
Humansville is named after James G. Human, a pioneer who discovered a spring of pure, cold water here in 1833 and settled near the Big Spring in 1834. Humansville was incorporated May 30, 1972 and bears the distinction of being the only town of that name in the world.
Located in the heart of the Ozarks Region of southwest Missouri, Humansville is surrounded on three sides by Truman, Pomme de Terre and Stockton Lakes, which provides fabulous recreational opportunities for visitors.
Dimmitt Memorial Park is a block-square oasis in downtown Humansville. Its Greek-inspired pavilion, constructed on cast stone and terra cotta, is a city landmark.
Humansville City Park, situated at the northwest corner of the city, is a 26 acre tract suitable for a variety of activities.
There are also a number of area antique shops and flea markets to visit, as well as outlet malls, and Battlefield Mall located in nearby Springfield, MO.
Double J Indoor Arena is one of the largest indoor arenas in the state of Missouri for any rodeo fans that my consider visiting Humansville. And for golf lovers, you can choose from couses at Pomme de Terre lake, or Silo Ridge in Bolivar.
